J-Model Hospital Unit

The J Model is MedWaste TEC’s most economical waste management system. It is ideal for small hospitals, labs and other infectious waste generators, and can be installed in the user’s facility or a custom designed container/enclosure as required. The system incorporates an in-feed conveyor, our patented multi-stage impact mill, mixing drum, chemical injection, exit conveyor and full negative air flow system.

This is a time/retention process. The waste is loaded onto the in-feed belt conveyor and conveyed to the impact mill where it is macerated and then conveyed to the kill tank/mixing drum. During transit from the mill to the drum, the chemical is injected into the waste stream. The drum rotates in a mixing mode for a programmed period of time to insure complete contact between the chemical and waste. The retention time is 120 minutes, and during this time the drum will go into a mixing cycle at the pre-programmed intervals. At the end of the retention time, the treated waste can be removed through the exit conveyor and deposited in a dumpster or compactor to be removed as general waste.

Although the J Model lacks some of the high-tech components of other LFB 12-5 models, the basic structural components of the system are of the same high quality and durable construction. The J Model is more of a hands-on system requiring the operator to be responsible for chemical and water mix as well as batch control by bag count or pre-weighting. The rest of the system runs itself.

To provide an economical waste treatment system where speed and time are not required, MedWaste TEC has eliminated some of the hi-tech components from the process such as the pressurization cycle, continuous weight analysis, and the sophisticated chemical mixing system. These systems require expensive programming and controls and their elimination reduces the cost of the equipment.

SF-Model Hospital Unit

The SF-Model is a fixed base system that can be installed in the customer’s facility or a custom designed container or enclosure suited to the environmental requirements of the region. The SF generally addresses four sizes of waste requirements:
• Small demand of 300 to
600 pounds per hour = SF6
• Medium demand of 600 to
1,000 pounds per hour = SF10
• Large demand of 1,000 to
1,500 pounds per hour = SF12
• Commercial demand of up to 2,000 pounds + per hour = SF15C

The LFB SF and J Model processes are ideal for on-demand treatment of waste. As waste is picked up at the various source locations, the housekeeping attendants simply transport the material directly to the waste management system, turn on the machine, place the waste on the conveyor, process the batch and return to their other duties. The system provides safe storage and continuous treatment of the waste. This process can continue until a pre-determined amount of waste has been deposited into the system, up to 3,000 pounds*. This process can continue for as many days as required to achieve treated waste goals. The LFB series offers on demand treatment, ongoing safe storage and economy of operation.
