K-Model Mobile Unit
Like its larger
counterpart, this unique mobile infectious waste management
system is also capable of processing 300 to 1,000 pounds of
medical waste per hour. It is fully automated, requiring only
one person (the driver) to operate. Designed specifically
for "on the go" treatment, it is ideal for low volume load
pick-ups such as small hospitals, clinics, treatment centers,
professional offices and any other low volume generator of
infectious waste that can save money by combining the waste
pick-ups with other generators on the route.
While the system utilizes the same technology of the LFB 12-5,
the actual operation is similar to that of a garbage truck.
The material is picked up from the generator and loaded into
the management system where it is macerated, treated with
chemicals and deposited in the "kill" or mixing tank. It remains
in this isolated and safe environment for the duration of
the continuing route and pick-ups. At the end of the day or
route schedule, the disinfected waste is discharged into the
carrier’s waste bin or compactor for final disposition.
